The young and talented Rasha Amin graces El Gouna with her lovely paintings at the TU Berlin, in the Art Forum. The exhibition opened September 5th, and will run until the end of December 2016.
Rasha has called her exhibition The Renaissance 'ctrl+d'
"ctrl+d" stands for duplication in the digital world. Since in the real world we find repetitive actions and experiences of violence, hatred, and loneliness. Unfortunately reality connects to the digital world, especially with the rise of social media. As research has shown, this digital world can make us more isolated, increase our negativity, violence, anger and allow hatred to grow within us.
Rasha Amin earned a BFA in Interior Design in 2003 from the Faculty of Fine Arts in Helwan University in Egypt. Since then, she has been working as a visual artist and a graphic designer, creating paintings alongside her designs and illustrations.
With time and practice in the multiple fields, she has found an intersection point between them and subsequently developed her own visual and conceptual vocabulary. Rasha has been inspired by the Italian artist Caravaggio's Mixed Media on Canvas, 2013-2015.
