The Red Sea reefs play a crucial role in the survival of marine life. Healthy reefs bring both jobs and food to the region and any deterioration to them severely impacts the community.
Dumping waste into the sea, onto our reefs creates a serious threat to marine life in the Red Sea. Therefore it is up to us, the Red Sea community, to step in and protect it.
On Sunday the 4th of June, all diving centers are invited to join the Hurghada Environmental Protection and Conservation Association (HEPCA) in a massive underwater cleanup to celebrate World Environment Day!
Together we can make a real difference by doing an underwater clean up on Shuab-El-Erg, not only to clean the waste, but also to raise awareness.
Join us on that day. Bring your family, friends and guests, and come to not only protect the Red Sea, but to have a good time. Certified divers of all experience levels are invited to join in. Bags will be provided by HEPCA and every diving center will return to their Marina with what they collected. Mesh bags will be available at the HEPCA offices 48 hours before the event, you can collect them between 9am and 5pm.
We will need all helping hands available. If you are not able to come, please help us spread the word by inviting your friends.
The event is organized by HEPCA in cooperation with The National Parks of Egypt.
If you have any questions please email nagy@hepca.org or call the office on 065 344 5035.
