Cross Egypt Challenge to Make a Stop in El Gouna

The Cross Egypt Challenge (CEC) is a relatively new event that was introduced to Egypt in 2011. It is a cross country scooter rally that begins in Alexandria and travels down the country, this year running down the Red Sea coast and making a one night/one day stop in El Gouna.

At the moment, organizers are expecting an arrival in El Gouna on Thursday 27th of October and a departure, for the ongoing leg, on the 28th. The caravan will be hosted at the Arena Inn downtown with a reception at the Sultan Bey.

The Cross Egypt Challenge is one of the top international sports events in the world and runs yearly in Egypt with the attendance of many international adventure riders. The associated media covering the event plays an important role in promoting Egypt and reminding audiences that Egypt is a safe and fascinating destination. Each year the challenge features a different route throughout the best parts and tracks of Egypt. In 2016, the proposed route will pass by the Red Sea coast, with El Gouna/Hughada a major stop on the route.

This year the convoy will be made up of:
75 – 85 people
11 Nationalities
18 Motorcycles
30 Scooters
2 Vans
1 Large cargo truck
1 Fuel carrier
5 Cars (4X4 + Sedan)

Coordination with relevant government ministries and approvals for the route have been obtained and organizer Mr. Ahmad Elzoghby is expecting a memorable and fun rally for all the riders.

The rally route will take the convoy on to Hurghada, Sahl Hashish and Soma Bay.

'El Gouna 2030 - 11th Community Forum' Date Announced

Water Sustainability and Entrepreneurship

TU Berlin Campus El Gouna in cooperation with Youthinkgreen Egypt

The 11th Community Forum is part of the Opening Ceremony for the students of the 5th intake at Campus El Gouna. It will be held in the afternoon session of the Opening Ceremony.

The topic of the 11th Community Forum focuses on concrete and practical proposals for water supply and consumption in El Gouna, as well as in other towns and settlements of the Red Sea Region. These proposals have been developed by the Department of Water Engineering, TU Berlin Campus El Gouna and the participants of the Third Year National Sustainability Summer Camp of “youthinkgreen Egypt” which took place in El Gouna from August 5th - 26th 2016. The main topics of the Community Forum are:

- “Urban Lab El Gouna” as the new concept and label for the research activities of Campus El Gouna will be presented.
- The Water Engineering Department will give an overview of its activities in the last five years.
- Under the moderation of Magued Youssef, seven teams of the YouThinkGreen Camp will present their proposals for water sustainability and entrepreneurship. They cover topics like water resources and supply management, treatment and pollution etc. from the smart business solution point of view.

I am sure that this program will again find a large interest in the community. In particular, I hope that we can gain participants from our neighbour town, Hurghada.

I am looking forward to seeing you on October 15th at our Campus El Gouna.

Artist Rasha Amin Exhibits her Paintings at TUB

TU Berlin Forum Hall in El Gouna has the pleasure of inviting you to attend "The Renaissance", a paintings exhibition by artist Rasha Amin
www.rashaamin.com

The opening day was on the 5th of September, 2016.

and the exhibition will run to the end of December, 2016
opening daily from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm

Rasha Amin earned a BFA in Interior Design in 2003 from the Faculty of Fine Arts at Helwan University in Egypt. Since then, she has been working as a visual artist and a graphic designer, creating paintings alongside her designs and illustrations. With time and practice in the multiple fields, she has found an intersection point between them, and subsequently developed her own visual and conceptual vocabulary.

Amin daringly experiments with artistic conceptual approaches and techniques to develop new and creative ways to making art. She draws inspiration from dramatic scenes in films, novels and everyday events and scenes, in an attempt to subjectively reproduce them. Her body of work is hugely influenced by current political, social, and gender issues; especially in the age of social media which often evokes negative reactions. So naturally, she saw the boundaries between her art practice and daily life blur, and grows them closer together. In her process, she infuses emotional, intellectual, and sensual aspects in order to build a dialogue with the viewers and ultimately create an open space for questions, and thinking beyond the artworks themselves.

Don't miss your experience with these enchanting works of art!
